5 Ways to Be the Best Digital Learner
Becoming a digital learner is all about embracing the rich educational platforms available to your teenager. We know that online learning is both the present and the future. There are some students who really want to strive in their digital classrooms and- as experts ourselves- here’s our top tips:
1. Self-Motivation
Successful online learners have a good sense of self-motivation: they’re willing to get to work themselves and feel driven. For your teenager, the trick is to get them started, which is why many families turn to us at my digital lesson! We provide chunked course content for National 5 and Higher pupils. We are also providing digital classes during February half term including for Advanced Higher pupils.
2. Goal Setters
To become a good digital learner, setting goals is key to keeping focus. Goals can be big or small: it could be as simple as mastering a Maths equation in a day, or analyzing an English article each week! The best digital learners find enjoyment in challenging themselves and creating ways of being successful. With us, all the SQA content your child needs is accessible via their devices, offering a robust and highly knowledgeable set of lessons to work from- wherever they are!
3. Reach for the Resources
There are typically many facets to online learning experiences. Unlike the classroom, where it’s teacher and students, digital lessons usually have multi-modal ways of delivering the learning. There’s also the benefit that your teen can pause or rewind video materials, save important pages, or have instant access to research tools and tabs. At my digital lesson, we provide excellent teacher-narrated videos, notes pages and quizzes. We also have intensive courses running throughout January and February for Higher candidates.
4. Transfer the information
Effective learning strategies include transferring and maintaining the new information your teenager has learned in their long-term memory. Whether it’s recalling subject knowledge in a quiz, or creating a set of flashcards for a topic, the best digital learners create something out of the information they have received. They keep the info fresh, and they keep coming back to it.
5. Celebrate Blended Learning
And finally, successful digital learners celebrate the blended approach to their academics. Mixing classroom experience with online learning is the way forward in education right now: it creates a really powerful method of deepening knowledge. When your teenager sees the amazing benefits of how digital learning accompanies their classroom learning, they’ll be onto a win! As an online educational platform ourselves, we know how many students we have greatly impacted. Our courses are highly recommended and are the perfect solution for any Scottish teenagers taking SQA pathways.
