Learning after Lockdown: What to Expect
Learning after Lockdown: What to Expect
The question every parent has is: what’s happening come September? And while- at the point of writing- we don’t have all the answers just yet, we do have excellent solutions and expertise! As an online learning provider, we have your child’s best interests at heart, and we can carry them forward in their next academic steps!
The Blended Approach
Each setting will likely handle the next few months differently- and there’s been some discussions around August, too. Local authorities will need to be on board with whatever happens next. It’s probable that most schools will offer rotas or PT timetables to begin with. ‘Blended’ learning (a mix between classroom and home learning) is potentially going to be the ‘new normal’ – for a while. Therefore, we are catering our online courses with this specifically in mind.
For Scottish teenagers on course for SQA examinations in the coming year, the top priority is to ensure your teenager has full access to the content they need. Because of this, flipped learning approaches may be utilised much more in schools. If you’ve not heard of this before, it’s the idea that students learn the content outside of the lesson (thus having more ‘active’ approaches once in the classroom.) Our online courses are a brilliant way to accompany the ‘flipped learning’ approach, as your teenager will have an expanse of learning content at their fingertips!
Upping Teacher Input
Many students are probably starting to realise how much they miss teachers’ input, and what’s so unique about our provision is that your teen acquires specialist input and support. Our tutorials are all delivered by teachers who have their own classes- now. Therefore, you can be safe in the knowledge that your child will receive up-to-date, reliable and relevant teaching. For students taking National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher, it really is imperative to pool as many knowledgeable sources and high-quality resources as possible, which is what we have on offer.
Bridging the Gaps
Students can also expect that there will be gaps in their learning at the moment- and these gaps may well look very different for each individual. But whatever school ‘looks like’ when your teenager starts back, we do know that there will be a period of time where educational settings are going to ‘gauge’ where each child is at. Things will perhaps get off to a ‘slow start,’ and there’ll also need to be time for social readjustment (understandably!) By signing up to our online courses, your child will continue to make good progress in their studies- despite any changes going on around them.
And thus we appreciate the craving for consistency that families may be feeling. By joining our online courses, your child receives a consistent approach to their education, and you, as a parent or guardian, can rest well knowing their studies are taken care of! For many teenagers, our courses are about boosting confidence, as well as creating excellent opportunities for learning after lockdown!
